Grant proposals being sought for neighborhood based projects
Jessica Rayment on 08/25/2015
We understand that for a community to thrive, it must have strong and involved neighborhoods. The Community Networking Grants program was created to provide neighborhood groups and organizations resources for community-driven projects that enhance and strengthen neighborhoods. It is our hope that area residents will come together to develop neighborhood-based projects to help make our communities more safe and supportive for children and families by promoting child well-being, family stability, and informal support systems. Funded projects should create activities for children, expand networks, and aid youth in our area, resulting in lasting relationships between adults, youth, and children. Neighborhood-based groups (formal and informal), grass-roots community groups, community based organizations, and ad hoc groups that want to do a project to build stronger connections and sense of community in Pottawattamie County are encouraged to submit one proposal requesting a maximum of $2,000 for projects and activities taking place December 7, 2015 through May 30, 2016. Applications are due October 30, 2015.
